On the final weekend of 2014 there was a decidedly “fresh” regatta in Naples: with strong north winds, from December 27-29 racing was only possible on the first two days of the three planned for the Christmas regatta, and they struggled to finish two races.
In the 420s, where there were three entries from the Mascalzone Latino Sailing School, only six boats out of 17 finished the second race on Sunday, December 28. On Monday the 29th all the boats remained on land because of a strong easterly.
It was a real pity for the Mascalzones because the day before, in very very light airs, the by now expert Agizza twins started out with an excellent third place. Not finishing the second race cost them 18 points, and after just two races they came seventh overall. 12th, confirming the positions of the previous day, were the two students Lombardi and Pistone, ending their first season together. 14th, in her debut in the class together with instructor De Crescenzo, was young Laura Canzanella.
Last weekend was also the first race and the first outing ever for Lorenzo Angrisano on the Laser 4.7, one of the four brand-new dinghies Vincenzo Onorato donated to the Sailing School just a week ago as a Christmas present.
