With 53 entries, the IV Achille Onorato Trophy, organised at the start of the autumn by the Mascalzone Latino Sailing School, confirms it is an important date in the Optimist calendar in the Gulf of Naples.
In fact from this year the regatta is the VI leg in the V zone Optimist Championship. A splendid day reminded everyone of the summer that it just ended, with high-pressure bringing son and stable weather: perfect conditions for the young students on the water.
Very light and just enough was the air that got up only towards 1:30 PM from 210°-220° reaching a maximum of 6 kn. But a hard-working race committee managed to organise three races for all the categories, juniors, cadets in 2005 cadets.
The Posillipo Sailing Club won hands down with Filippo Varini first in the Juniors and Tommaso Viola winning in the Cadets category.
Fabbrini of the LNI Naples won in the 2005 cadets, taking home the Achille Onorato trophy.
Results were modest for the three students of the Mascalzone Latino Sailing School, who in a mature and competitive fleet finished in the second half of the rankings.
