A light easterly was blowing right from the morning at about 7 to 8 kn.
Unfortunately, as the start began with the course laid out and the committee boat in position, the fickle wind began playing tricks, veering from 40° to 110°. Over the VHF came the news that on the nearby course where the older Mascalzones were racing on Melges 20s just a few miles away, the wind was 230°!
Unusual conditions then, with just two races, the second of them shortened with the letter “S” on the inflatable at the second upwind mark.
There were plenty of winners:
an all CVVT podium in the U16 category, with Parisi, Jurno and Fantini, fourth was Andrea Sole Agizza, awarded the cup for the first girl to finish.
In the U13 category, first was Simone Cordero di Montezemolo followed by our Lollo Angrisano and Alessio Garau. The first girl to finish was our Laura Canzanella.
The races were also good training and experience in races judged on the water. Great satisfaction also for the head of the National Judges Association, Piero Occhetto, who was pleased with the job done both on dry land and on the water and from the warm welcome from the organising committee.
Guido Sirolli, President of the Class, invited everyone to the next date in Sardinia!
