Yesterday was a long and busy day. We had all morning and the afternoon free to look round Boston.
Frank had given us tickets for the duck tour, an amphibious bus that takes you round the city both on the roads and on the River Charles, with the driver telling the story of the foundation and development of Boston.
Straight afterwards we went to the Museum of Fine Arts, which has works from several continents, from Europe to Asia and America. It was good to see the kids in wonder in front of some works and seeing them interested in asking questions about painting techniques.
In the afternoon we went to the MIT to rig the boats and sail the first race. For our kids it was difficult, because they were using a new kind of boat and struggle to understand the starting procedure is and the various changes of course on the water, especially because of language problems.
After the regatta, Fausto and Chiara took us out to dinner and the kids tasted Mexican cooking with gusto: tortillas, fajitas and mex sauces.
Today, lunch at the consulate and then a visit to the science Museum with a temporary exhibition on the Pixar animation giant with the mythical Disney cartoons and others.
In the evening, dinner with Enrico and his family and Fausto, who is currently admired by the kids because he’s a Harvard researchers working on a robotics project that left the young Mascalzones open-mouthed.
