Very light air for the two young teams on transfer to Salerno and Torre del Greco, the two Campania courses where last weekend some of the youngest kids of the Mascalzone Latino Sailing School were racing.
In particular the youngest, Christian, Ilaria, Gabriel and Miriana, in the Optimist team, were in Salerno for the last leg of the zone championship organised by CVSA. Unfortunately for them the lack of wind made it a nonstarter. However, it was a nice experience away from home that gave them practice loading and unloading the boats and equipment and learned the responsibilities of timing and logistics.
Meanwhile in the 420s, Alessandro and Domenico in the Sailing School’s new boat came third on equal merit with the second placed crew in the last leg of the 420 zone championship, held at the Torre del Greco sailing club. It was a difficult day for them too with the very light wind which didn’t even allow them to sit out once on the trapeze. But the boat quickly proved fast and filled them with enthusiasm for the new racing season.
